STEP-BY-STEP GOING GREEN IN THE MEADOWS...
   Larry says "We continue to take 'baby steps' but pledge to continue to GO GREEN whenever we can."  The electric fence is already SOLARpowered, low wattage light bulbs are being used in the stables, horse manure is being used as our fertilizer on our hay fields, and we continue to look for ways to make a difference in our environment and global climate.   We are looking for volunteers to join our GO GREEN TEAM and help research.  Please join OUR MISSION ! ...

WALK ON!...BUILD ON!
Now that we are officially NON-PROFIT, we are beginning our journey of building a NEW INDOOR RIDING ARENA.  We have the floor plans and are organizing our Building Campaign Fund and our first fundraiser called "Step UP for MAGIC!"  

The construction phases include...
    PHASE I...Complete the building structure...60'x80' ARENA...30'x40' Entrance Area
    PHASE II...Complete the interior framing and electrical for the observation room, 
                            bathrooms, tack room and office
    PHASE III...Complete additional horse stalls and equipment storage
    PHASE IV...Complete landscaping

Through our Therapeutic Riding program at the MAGICAL Meadows, children, youth and adults with physical and/or developmental disabilities improve physical health, relax tight muscles, increase balance, build muscle strength, sharpen hand/eye coordination, improve social skills, and gain a sense of control and self confidence as each rider experiences a freedom never felt before.
Riders are accepted to our program based on an initial evaluation.  We follow NARHA guidelines in accepting our riders.  It is important that we do not take riders who will in any way be harmed by the riding experience.  Once accepted, goals are set based on the initial interview, and riders are then re-evaluated as needed.  Rider progress is documented on a daily basis in order to best determine success with outcomes.

Larry & Tammy Stackhouse are the co-founders of The MAGICAL Meadows, Inc.  Tammy has worked in the medical field for 20 years and is currently a medical transcriptionist for hospitals & doctors in the greater Warsaw area.  She is the Program Director at the Riding Center and the Senior Therapeutic Instructor.  Larry has also worked in the medical field for over 40 years and is currently the Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester, Indiana.  An avid horse lover & owner for over 15 years, Larry is also the Director of Equine & Facilities Operations at the Riding Center.  Both Tammy & Larry are members of NARHA-North American Riding for the Handicapped Association.
